HOST CITY AND TRAVELS
The host city, Guilin is a beautiful city in Guangxi Province, located in the South of China. There are flights to Guilin from Beijing (175 minutes flight time) or Shanghai (120 minutes flight time) every day. There are also daily flights from Hong Kong (80 minutes flight time) to Guilin. Guilin is also linked by direct trains from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou (the largest city in Southern China) every day in 27 hours, 22 hours and 11 hours, respectively.
 VISA AND PASSPORT
Please check the regulations with your travel agency.
 CURRENCY
Chinese Currency is Renminbi (RMB). It is advised for the delegates to change some RMB before arrival for possible taxi and bus fees. Meanwhile, there are also several other hotels that will be recommended for the delegates. We also promise that the lower discount of our recommended hotels can be obtained for our delegates.  LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
Guilin airport located in the LiangJiang Town, LinGui County, is in the southwest region of Guilin city. It is about 28 kilometers from the down-town center.
There are buses in the airport that can reach the urban areas at a cost of 20 RMB / person (2007 prices). In the urban areas there will be a bus every 30 minutes from the Civil Aviation Building to the airport. You can also take a taxi to the airport, at a cost of about 60 RMB. The distances from Guilin Hotels and Ronghu Hotels to the airport are 30 km and 28 km, respectively, and to the railway station are 1.5 km and 3 km, respectively, and to the city centre are 0.5 km and 0.5 km, respectively.
 WEATHER
In May, the average temperature is in the range of 20-27≧. It is the best time in Guilin and mostly sunny. It is also the best time for people to appreciate the landscapes of Guilin.
 TIME ZONE
In May, China is 13 hours ahead of Eastern time of USA.
 POST CONFERENCE TOURS

A variety of post conference tours will be available, and travel agencies will be providing reservation at the conference venue. Guilin, with its beautiful water and Karst peaks towering into the sky has attracted travelers to the area for centuries. Along the Lijiang River are the two famous and beautiful peaks, Fubo Hill and Xiangbi Hill. Yangshuo is also well-known with amazing mountains and water. Ludi Yan has been described as an "Art Palace of Nature", and the stalagmite and stone flowers of fascinating shapes in the caves create breathtaking spectacles which are a feast for the eyes. Seven Star Park, composed by green hills, crystal water, fantastic caves and beautiful rocks, is the largest and most beautiful park in Guilin.


 WORKSHOPS

We plan to organize a number of workshops during the conference. Please contact Prof. Zhang Quan if you have suggested topics or if you would like to organize such a forum, by 20 December, 2008.

 EXHIBITION
